About Me
I was born and raised in Laredo, TX, the middle child of three siblings. Art has always been a key role in my life: growing up, taking classes and creating with different media. It was photography that made its way into my way of seeing as a student at The University of Texas at Austin by chance: geology class was canceled for the summer and being part of a great college town, and going back home for the summer was out of the question. I went to summer school the next morning to see if I could beg my way into a photography class. Walking into the room stood a burly man with glasses, he said, “Whoever is registered in this photo class, move and sit on the right side and whoever is not, exit the room, and only two will come back in, I don’t care to know if you argue, or draw names from a hat!” and so I did, I exited the room and names were written on a piece of paper. I was one of two names drawn that early morning. Since then, photography is the way I capture life around me and in me.
